Classes and Registration

Neighborhood Music School offers one-one-one lesson in the following instruments: piano, guitar, violin, cello, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, flute, clarinet, bass, drums, and voice. All lessons are on an open enrollment status. You may start and cancel at any time. Currently all lessons are held Monday - Saturday once a week on an online platform.

Students can enroll in lessons starting at the age of 6. Students who are younger than 6 years old will need to be assessed by a teacher before enrolling for one-on-one lessons.

New classes at Art in the Park begin Tuesday, june 13!

These classes are located in the Hermon Park Art in the Park building
(next to the play structure and tennis courts)

All classes are tuition-free with registration

Early Childhood Music and Movement (ages 3-6, 3:00-3:45pm)
Come sing, dance, explore instruments and movement! Learn melodies, rhythms and other foundational musical skills through games and activities with other children.

Beginner’s Music Jam (all ages, 4:00-5:00pm)
Never played an instrument before? Come try out drums, keyboards, guitar, and percussion with us. Explore sounds, find a groove with others, and jam by ear for the first time.

Songwriting Workshop (ages 16+, 5:30-6:30pm)
This class is for anyone who's ever/never written a song before. Every week will focus on a different creative prompt to try out in your own songwriting. We'll listen to and discuss diverse examples of songs from the past and the present. We'll learn from each other through regular opportunities to share our own songs. Any and all approaches to songwriting are welcome: whether you're a singer, instrumentalist, DJ, field recordist, poet, or anything else!
